Starting the firm the founding members came to Bogart with a set of ideas and expectations of what they would need to be successful.

Vendor Liaison

As needs changed Marine Mammal would add, migrate or move away from different software platforms, for trading or portfolio management. Bogart was present from proposal to implementation to decommissioning of any subscription software, making sure it met Marine Mammal’s cybersecurity requirements and expectations. Once deployed Bogart would serve as first line of support before engaging with the software vendor alongside our client to ensure the issue is resolved.

COVID-19 and Multi Factor Authentication

The pandemic coincided with the roll out of company wide MFA. Priority was given to get all users up and running smoothly with access to the necessary resources. They where able to use their personal computers or company issued laptops to access their cloud workstations which had been secured following the established cybersecurity policy. After successfully getting everyone on board MFA was rolled out to everyone, further securing remote access.

Custom development

Making sense of the deluge of daily financial reports is no easy task. Under the close direction of Marine Mammal, Bogart automated a number daily and monthly reports, extracting exactly what our clients needed to make the right decisions.

An internal portal was created that hosted a number of features: report delivery status, automated task status and triggering, greatly simplified broker parameter actions, quick access reference data, all with their respective access controls for each user.

Cloud Infrastructure

Bogart designed and operated Marine Mammal's cloud footprint, leveraging AWS’s prepaid and pay as you use models to provide a cost sensitive deployment. Well defined policies and access controls kept all resources secure and accessible. Deployments for new resources or projects where carefully delineated prior provisioning to maintain secure accesses and ensure only the necessary resources were available for each party.

Broker consolidation

Bogart designed, developed and maintained software that connected to the firm’s different brokers and fed trade data to their portfolio management software to have a real time view of the firm’s performance.

Office hardware provisioning and set up

From user workstations to office networking equipment to number crunching servers, Bogart researched and evaluated options that fulfilled the client's needs
